Weightmans Walking Tours
Rebel Manchester Walking Tour
With Anne Beswick
THIS EVENT IS NOW FULLY BOOKED
Fired by the Industrial Revolution and fuelled by immigration to feed the boiling mills and factories, Manchester has long been a rebel city. Mancunians fought for the vote, religious and personal freedoms, and the right to party! Writers such as Emmeline Pankhurst, Friedrich Engels, Elizabeth Gaskell and Walter Greenwood wrote to support the struggles and to document them. Visit the streets where the rebels rebelled; where some were cut down and others triumphed.
Meet outside St Ann's Church, St Ann Street
(Ends at International Anthony Burgess Foundation)
