We are delighted that Ben Okri will be delivering the inaugural MLF and Royal Literary Fund Lecture. A prolific and award-winning writer, Ben has written short stories, poems, plays, film scripts and essays. His eight novels include The Famished Road (winner of the 1991 Man Booker Prize), Dangerous Love, Astonishing the Gods, A Way of Being Free and The Age of Magic.

Born in Nigeria and now based in London, Ben is well known for his imaginative stories, vivid fables and his profound meditations on war, politics, society, art and creativity. He will reflect on the strange art of storytelling before a discussion with broadcaster and host Anita Sethi. This event is presented in partnership with The Royal Literary Fund, a benevolent fund that has been supporting writers since 1790.
