Carol Ann Duffy and Manchester Metropolitan University present The People’s Poetry Lectures: leading writers talking about their favourite poets. Sean Borodale, whose collections include Bee Journal and Human Work, will be talking about Sylvia Plath (1932 – 1963). Plath is credited with advancing the genre of confessional poetry and is best known for her collections Ariel, The Colossus and Other Poems, and her semi-autobiographical novel The Bell Jar. Join Sean and Carol Ann for this special event celebrating poetry.
