40 years after Joy Division’s seminal debut album Unknown Pleasures, acclaimed music critic Jon Savage (This searing light, the sun and everything else, England's Dreaming) and drummer Stephen Morris come together to discuss their recollections of the time. The impact Joy Division have had on the musical landscape from the late 70’s to the present day; the brilliance of the music, lyrics and post-punk tension. They also discuss New Order’s embrace of drum machines and dance music, the importance of place in the music of both bands, the joy of record collecting, and Stephen’s excellent memoir, Record Play Pause.
