Black and white photo of handsome poet and writer Owen Sheers.

Versatile author Owen Sheers reads from Pink Mist, a verse drama about three young soldiers deployed to Afghanistan and the women affected by the physical and psychological aftershocks of their tours of duty. Drawing on interviews with soldiers and their families as well as medieval Welsh poetry, this lyrical narrative combines documentary integrity with emotional intensity. Pink Mist was originally recorded as a radio play for BBC Radio 4 and was shortlisted for the BBC Audio Drama Awards 2013. Owen’s other work includes the poetry collection Skirrid Hill (winner of the Somerset Maugham Award), the novel Resistance (adapted for the 2011 film), plays The Passion and The Two Worlds of Charlie F, and non-fiction works The Dust Diaries and Calon: A Journey to the Heart of Welsh Rugby.
