Critically acclaimed author Lionel Shriver delivers the 4th Manchester Sermon, reflecting on ethical issues of the day. Lionel Shriver’s novels include the National Book Award finalist So Much for That, the Orange prize-winning We Need to Talk About Kevin and the recently published Big Brother. Much admired for tackling complex social and political issues through her fiction, she has proved herself to be one of the most fearless commentators of our modern age. In an evening that also includes atmospheric music from Manchester Cathedral Choir, Lionel will be joined by author and Observer writer Rachel Cooke to discuss the sermon as a literary form and its place in contemporary culture.

This event will be BSL interpreted.
