Join multi-talented writers Ian McMillan and Owen Sheers in Manchester’s premier sports bar The Green for some entertaining readings and witty analysis of the joys and challenges of being a writer in residence for sporting clubs. Poet, broadcaster and author of the verse autobiography Talking Myself Home, Ian McMillan, talks about his role as writer in residence for Barnsley FC. Poet, dramatist and author Owen Sheers gives the inside story on his new book, Calon: A Journey to the Heart of Welsh Rugby, and his time as Welsh Rugby Union Artist in Residence. The event is presented as part of the northern library services Try Reading project (tryreading.org) and is sponsored by Weightmans (weightmans.com).
