THIS EVENT IS FULLY BOOKED

When Harriet Harman entered politics, a woman couldn’t sign for a mortgage and jobs were advertised at a lower ‘woman’s rate’. We’ve come a long way since then, but as Harriet shows in her new book, we have longer still to go. Join us for a searching and intimate conversation with the leading Labour Party MP about her 30 years in politics and her engrossing new memoir, A Woman’s Work.

It recalls her many challenging experiences as a working mother serving in Britain’s tradition-bound Parliamentary culture, her work reforming laws on maternity rights, childcare and domestic violence, and her continuing fight to get more women into government as Britain’s longest continuously serving female MP. Harriet will be in conversation with host Sarfraz Manzoor.
