Internationally renowned ballet dancer Carlos Acosta discusses his debut novel Pig’s Foot. The tumultuous history of Cuba (slavery, wars of independence, Bacardi rum, dictatorship and revolution) is told through the character of Oscar Kortico in this sweeping literary novel, full of dark comedy and strange revelations in the tradition of Gabriel García Márquez. Pig’s Foot was included in The Waterstones 11 list of 2013’s most important literary debuts. Carlos Acosta is also the author of the autobiography No Way Home: A Cuban Dancer's Story. This event is presented in partnership with Instituto Cervantes and is chaired by Mariana Casale O’Ryan.
