A Highland Romance: Poetry Workshop

This full-day workshop will enable participants to use Manchester Art Gallery’s current exhibitions, including A Highland Romance: Victorian Views of Scottishness, as a source of inspiration for their own writing, as well as providing them with guidance for developing their craft. Participants will spend time looking at the exhibition, and through discussion and practical exercises, develop their own poetic responses to the works on display. This workshop is designed for people with some prior experience of writing poetry and will be led by our specially commissioned poet Jen Hadfield, author of the acclaimed collections Almanacs and Nigh-No-Place.
